For a while now, there have been a lot of WHO WOULD WIN posts... In most of them, Annabeth or Percy are winning.
Let's focus on Annabeth. I feel that we are all being a little partial to our Wise Girl..
I did a poll and in that too, Annabeth was winning (last I checked)...
(Once you read this, some of you, very very few of you might go to the poll. If you do, then please give the answer you have always given... Unless this made you change your mind.)
Here are a few obvious and a few unexpected demigods who could defeat Annabeth in a duel to death. Please remember that in this fight, they use their demigodly weapons and abilities only.
Let's get to it.
Also, there was a mod post about violence... Words like stab, kill etc are used here.. if this is not allowed, please let me know.. I'll edit it.
Now, let's get to it...
Annabeth Chase:
Amount of Training: Ten years. Also spent almost a year on the streets by herself.
Powers: High intelligence, expert weaving, good memory, and great with battle strategy, good at weilding weapons, agility
Weapons: A bronze dagger/staff
Extra: She's extremely smart, can read people well, and is the daughter of a war goddess.
ANNABETH VS JASON
Jason:
Amount of training: 12 years
Powers: Can fly, summon and control the winds, shock people with static or electricity through his hands or weapons, create storms, and summon lightning bolts.
Weapons: An Imperial gold gladius from Juno.
Extra: He's the former Praetor of New Rome, the son of the king of the gods, and is very smart and a brave leader and has his storm spirit horse Tempest
What would happen: Jason has been training for 2 years longer than Annabeth and the Romans are known for being tougher... Jason is the son of the king of the gods, but Annabeth is the daughter of a war goddess, which makes her extremely stronger than other demigods and an expert in hand-to-hand combat and multiple weapons but she doesn't have any very special powers, plus Jason has his storm spirit horse Tempest.
Result: Jason wins.
ANNABETH VS LEO
Leo:
Amount of training: Less than a year.
Powers: Can control fire and is very good with machines and can build virtually anything with anything.
Weapons: Powers and machines.
Extra: He's extremely intelligent, spent years on the street by himself, has his bronze fire breathing dragon Festus (HAPPY) and his magic tool belt, and can build a death machine or a giant grabber arm in seconds.
What would happen: Leo has fire powers and his tool belt, Festus can light up Annabeth or just crush her in a second, and Annabeth is the daughter of a war goddess and is skilled with all weapons and is very strong. But she couldn't possibly fight off a giant grabber arm, Festus and Leo together...
Result: Leo wins
ANNABETH VS NICO
Nico:
Amount of training: Three years total(from Hades..)
Powers: Can control darkness and shadows, shadow-travel, raise/speak to/control the dead and skeletons, osteokinesis, umbrakinesis, darkness generation, darkness shield etc.( It's a long list)
Weapons: A Stygian iron sword.
Extra: He got direct training from Hades(almost direct... right?🤔) and can summon an entire army of skeletons, use his other powers. He's not a shabby swordfighter either..
What would happen: Annabeth has had seven more years of training than Nico and is more skilled with weapons but has no powers unlike Nico, who can just cloud people's vision with darkness before attacking. Nico can also summon a bunch of skeleton warriors or just send a wave of darkness and stab her. Or he could just do the trick he did on Bryce(but I'm sure he won't do that to Annabeth...irl)
Result: Nico wins
ANNABETH VS FRANK
Frank:
Amount of training: About a year
Powers: Can shape-shift into any animal he wants, archery
Weapons: A bow and explosive arrows, his cape is shield...
Extra: He's very physically strong. Son of Ares. So, battle strategy..
He fights real well
When he and his friends was fighting off a horde of monsters, Piper had even described him as 'terrifying'.He was also able to control dead legionnaires.
What would happen: Annabeth has been training for nine years longer than Frank, but Frank can shape-shift into a powerful, deadly animal (or a spider) or use exploding arrows.
Result: Frank wins
ANNABETH VS HAZEL
Hazel:
Amount of training: About a year
Powers: Can control darkness and shadows, shadow-travel, raise, speak to, and control the dead and skeletons, can create earthquakes, can control bones, can control metals and gems(including weapons) and anything else below the earth like rocks, can find, create, or destroy underground tunnels, caves, and trapdoors, and can control the Mist and easily trick others.
Weapons: An Imperial gold spatha/cavalry sword.
Extra: She has the extremely fast horse Arion and had direct training/guidance from Hecate
What would happen: Annabeth has been training longer than Hazel for nine years, is highly intelligent, is the daughter of a war goddess, but doesn't have any very special powers while Hazel can easily trick her with the Mist or use any of her other powers that can easily defeat a demigod, plus has Arion.
Result: Hazel wins.
ANNABETH VS REYNA
Reyna:
Amount of training: Four years at Camp Jupiter, (one year with Blackbeard?)
Powers: Can lend courage, strength, and bravery to others and can summon and control dead legionnaires as she's a praetor.
Weapons: An Imperial gold spear that can turn into a sword at will, a silver pocket-knife, and a gold dagger.
Extra: Is the daughter of a war goddess, has her metal dogs Aurum and Argentum that can tear apart a demigod in seconds, her Aegis cloak that can protect her against anything, blessings from two different war goddesses (Athena and Bellona), and is extremely skilled with weapons and in hand-to-hand combat, being ableto defeat Thalia Grace while blindfolded and tied to a chair.
What would happen: Annabeth may have trained for five years longer than Reyna (we still don't know how long she's trained before Camp Jupiter and if she trained while she was Blackbeard's prisoner) and they're both highly intelligent, strong, and strategic leaders, but Reyna trained at the stricter, tougher camp, has Aurum and Argentum, her Aegis cloak, more weapons, blessings from two
war goddesses, and defeated Thalia Grace easily while blindfolded and tied up, plus Annabeth herself stated that Reyna could easily defeat her in MoA..
Result: Reyna wins.
ANNABETH VS THALIA
Thalia:
Amount of training: Eight years total
Powers: Can fly, summon and control the winds, create storms, summon lightning bolts, and shock people with static or electricity through her hands or weapons.
Weapons: A spear disguised as a mace canister she directs static electricity and lightning bolts
with, her Aegis shield with the terrifying Medusa head on it disguised as a silver bracelet, a Hunter's bow, and twin silver knives.
Extra: She's a Hunter of Artemis, which makes her more agile, durable, stronger, and faster than average demigods, is the daughter of the king of the gods, and has minor control over the Mist, enough to trick mortals and other demigods.
What would happen: Thalia is a Hunter of Artemis, has many more powers than Annabeth, and can control the Mist a little, but Annabeth has been training for longer than her. Although, Thalia is more experienced because she knew she was a demigod for longer and is constantly fighting against monsters as a Hunter. The only reason Annabeth has trained
more is because Thalia was a tree for awhile.
Result: Thalia wins.
So here I've shown 6 people who'd be able to defeat Annabeth in the way given. But that doesn't mean that she's a really bad fighter or anything.. in matters of the brain, she automatically comes first...( Or second in the case of engineering, where Leo's first)
I love Annabeth. She's a born braniac. She's a really great character.
With this post, I'm just saying that Annabeth can be defeated by many others too.. so, we should give them all equal credit...
